AI written slop vs Human written content – The ever raging war

Everyone is a content marketer these days. And by everyone, I mean EVERYONE, including that 14 year old I see out of my window in a small village in India who is typing furiously away at his laptop. I meet him to play football on most weekdays, and ask him a simple question when resting after the game – Hey, what do you do on your computer all day, buddy?

The answer shocks me, but not as much as it should – “Oh, I am a content creator. In the mornings, I use Nano Banana to create images for a design agency out of Delhi. And, in the noons, I write blog posts for a real estate development firm in Bangalore. The money is good. It pays for my.. ahem… activities”

I don’t probe further, not interested to know what his “Activities” are. But I do know one thing for certain. My job as a Content Marketer is at risk, and by risk, I mean serious, job-being-redundant risk. Not a lot of people know this, or are living in a la-la land that considers “Content Marketer” on their profile is a safe career path. Trust me when I say this friends, it’s not.

Consider this. I am asking ChatGPT to describe the Taj Mahal using a custom prompt that I gave it. This is how my screen would look like.
